Here’s a quick overview of the day:
Champagne on arrival, cheese & conversation! Get to know your fellow photographers and your hosts, Khara & Alex.
From here we will split into two groups of 6.
Group 1 will begin the afternoon indoors capturing wedding preparation
Group 2 will begin outdoors photographing the ceremony scene
The photography groups will then swap, and continue the day shooting portraits and posing in different lighting scenes and locations around the property. Photographers will have the chance to shoot different model combinations across all different scenes.
In the early evening (prior to sunset) we will regroup for a Q&A.
As the sun sets, photographers will enjoy free time with the models and the scenes. Have fun with it!
As night falls, we’ll bring out the flashes and work with some flash photography scenes

FAQs
Is this a workshop?
This is a content workshop! You are encouraged to come along to advance your craft, experiment, meet like minded people in the industry and ultimately walk away feeling artistically refreshed with content that reflects your brand’s ideals. This is an informal environment where we will be growing and learning together. You are encouraged to ask questions throughout the day, and both Khara & Alex will be providing guidance throughout the day in terms of posing, composition, how to work with available light, camera settings and other business related questions that you might have.
Where is this located?
Krinklewood Estate is located in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Krinklewood is a French-inspired boutique Hunter winery and cellar door is set amongst Provencal gardens, urns and fountains with the Wollombi Brook and Brokenback Range providing a spectacular backdrop.
How long is the workshop?
This is considered a full day workshop. Photographers will arrive on site at Krinklewood at 2pm. The workshop will wrap up after sunset, at 8pm.
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
Payment plans are available to all participants. Please email us at hello@houseoflucie and we will work something out for you.
Will there be food?
We will be starting the evening by a brief introduction to the other attendees over a glass of champagne, cheese and crackers.
How do I get there? Will transportation be provided?
You will need to provide your own method of transport. Krinklewood is located in the Hunter Valley NSW. Just over 2 hours from Sydney and only 1 hour from Newcastle.
WHAT IF THERE’S BAD WEATHER?
In a perfect world, we would be able to control the weather, however unfortunately it’s something that’s out of our control. Luckily for us, there are parts of Krinklewood that are undercover where we would still be able to shoot if the weather was unfavourable.
We would also have clear umbrellas on hand to use, that would still help us create beautiful, romantic imagery! Working in adverse weather conditions is an essential skill for all wedding photographers, so this would give us a good opportunity to utilise the available light, problem solve and work to the conditions. If there is a larger, more dangerous weather event like flooding, we will assess the situation and provide an update prior.
How can I get the most value out of this?
You are encouraged to make new friends, try new things, experiment, and bounce ideas off other attendees. We will be creating the opportunity to create elevated, timeless content, but much of this event is more what you put into it, you'll get out of it, rather than a formal setting with set education and classes.
How many people are attending? How large are the shoot groups?
We are focused on creating an intimate space, so only 12 photographers in total will be attending the workshop. We understand keeping this number to a minimum will allow you more time and space to express yourself creatively. We will be separating into groups of 6 during the portrait session of this workshop, allowing everyone time to capture all aspects of the day.
How much content will I get? WHAT WILL I WALK AWAY WITH?
We encourage you to do what feels right for you. Prior to the day, we want you to think about what it is you want for yourself and what you’re aiming to achieve. Whether it's experimenting with technique, light, angles, or working with models. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to photograph images of artfully executed details and rambling garden florals. We will be supplying ample opportunity to create a vast amount of content for your business.
Not only will you elevate your portfolio with timeless, and poetic imagery, you’ll also receive complimentary headshots of you to use in your business, taken by Khara & Alex, and photographs of you working throughout the day at Krinklewood. Make valuable connections with other industry leaders and vendors involved, and gain the tools to advance your business and start getting your dream clients.
Do you offer refunds?
If you can’t attend for any reason, we can offer a refund of up to 50% of monies paid up until January 25th 2023, 2 weeks prior to the workshop. After this time unfortunately we cannot provide a refund. 50% of the monies paid are non-refundable due to the nature of the workshop and it’s inclusions.
